The OS/X Mavericks ships with Java 1.6, but in case you've installed another version, you can get back with 1.6 if you download a bundle of Java SE 1.6.065 from Apple. If you've installed a later version of Java, e.g. 1.7, for all users, installing the bundle mentioned above will most likely break your existing newer installation. However, the easiest way is to select OpenJDK 11 (LTS), the HotSpot JVM, and macOS x64, which will expose two option like these: Clicking on “Install JDK installer”, will download the OpenJDK installer package, e.g. OpenJDK11U-jdkx64machotspot11.0.411.pkg, which when executed, will install into this location: /Library/Java.
Note: These solutions work for various versions of Java including Java 8, Java 11, and the new Java 15, and for any other previous Java version covered by the listed version managers. This includes alternative JDK's from OpenJDK, Oracle, IBM, Azul, Amazon Correto, Graal and more. Easily work with Java 7, Java 8, Java 9, Java 10, Java 11, Java 12, Java 13, Java 14, and Java 15! Download the JDK.dmg file, jdk-11. Before the file can be downloaded, you must accept the license agreement. From either the browser Downloads window or from the file browser, double-click the.dmg file to start it. The JDK 14 Early-Access program for macOS 10.15 has concluded. JDK 14, which complies with Apple requirements for macOS 10.15, is now available on https. Reference Implementations. Report a bug.
